Safety Tips - Questions for the Company
We provide these Questions to help insure you are receiving the best possible service and safest replacement possible.
Most insurance companies will offer a recommendation for a glass company, but you can make the decision to use any glass company of your choice.
Although there are many installers who will do the job correctly, there are also those installers that will take shortcuts during the installation process to get the job done faster. Any installer who does the job correctly will know the answers to all of the questions below and will not mind answering them for you. The installers who like to take shortcuts should also know the answers, but are more likely to do the job correctly if they know you have some knowledge in this field.
BEFORE INSTALLATION
- Ask about their training program for technicians.
- How long do they train on the job?
- How long does the replacement take? (We usually average about 45 minutes to an hour per replacement not including drive time.)
- How many jobs a day do their technicians average? (Our company will not exceed seven replacements in an 8 hour work day. This is more then enough when you calculate drive time between jobs.)
- How long do you have to wait before you can drive your vehicle after the job is complete? (This answer will vary depending on the urethane (or adhesive) product that the company is using, but the technician should be able to show you a chart for safe drive times before he begins working on your vehicle.)
- Does the company provide a written warranty and what does it cover?
